Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of an update on the future of attacking midfielder James McAtee.
The versatile 19-year-old attacking midfielder has been in Manchester City’s academy for eight years, having first joined the club in 2013.
The City academy graduate, who Pep Guardiola once lauded as ‘exceptional’ as per the Manchester Evening News, is one of the most exciting names coming from the club.
There has been a huge queue of clubs showing interest in James McAtee. He had offers from Rangers, Bournemouth, QPR, Swansea City, Huddersfield, along with clubs in Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Stuart Brennan via MEN on Sunday reported that the reigning Premier League champions are expected to keep James McAtee in Pep Guardiola’s squad in the same way as he resisted loan moves for Phil Foden in his teenage years.
According to James Ducker via the Telegraph, Manchester City are in talks with McAtee over over a new contract.
Also, as per the Athletic, City are now confident that the 19-year-old will sign a contract extension at the Etihad and no loan switch appears to be in the offing.
