
Bernardo Silva has branded Liverpool fans, who targeted him on social media following Manchester City‘s Champions League exit “pathetic”.
It was a sad Saturday and a painful weekend for all Citizens as City suffered quarter-final anguish for a third successive year as they went down 3-1 to unfancied Lyon in Lisbon on Saturday.
The shock result prompted some Liverpool fans to target Silva on social media who did not clap for Red when they were given a guard of honour after securing the 2019-20 Premier League title.
The Portugal midfielder dejected just like all City players and fans hit back at the Liverpool supporters. He sent a tweet stating he is sorry for Red army but for the wrong reasons branding them to be “pathetic”.
“To all Liverpool fans that have nothing else to do than to come to a Man City player account, I’m also sorry for you but for the wrong reasons — pathetic,” Silva posted on Twitter. “Go celebrate your titles or try to find a partner, drink a beer with a friend, read a book. So many options!”

Bernardo Silva on Monday took another swipe at Liverpool fans on social media just 24 hours after initially hitting out at them.
