Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is attracting interest from Premier League clubs due to his limited playing time at the Etihad. Despite being signed for £42 million in 2022, Phillips has struggled to secure a spot in the starting lineup, leading to a short-term loan to West Ham where he made 10 appearances.
During his time at West Ham, Phillips faced backlash from supporters after a disappointing performance against Newcastle which resulted in a penalty and a subsequent loss. Despite this incident, Phillips returned to Manchester City with a Premier League winners’ medal and a successful season with six trophies under his belt.
Now, Phillips is being pursued by Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle United for a potential loan move for the upcoming season. Manchester City, on the other hand, are open to another loan arrangement for Phillips, indicating they may not be looking to sell him permanently just yet. With an upcoming tour of the USA, both Phillips and teammate Joao Cancelo, who is also facing an uncertain future, could be part of the squad as they prepare for the new campaign.
