Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has faced Manchester City 13 times since joining the club in 2018, conceding 24 goals against them. In a recent interview, Alisson praised his fellow Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson for his composure and ball-playing abilities, stating that they push each other to be better on the national team. Alisson has made 268 appearances for Liverpool, while Ederson has made 339 appearances for City, with both goalkeepers being crucial to their teams’ success.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has also praised Ederson, calling him the best footballing goalkeeper of all time. Both Alisson and Ederson have been instrumental in their teams’ achievements in England and are considered two of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history. Their healthy competition benefits both players and their national team.
