Manchester City’s goalkeeper Ederson could potentially leave for Saudi Arabia this summer after Al-Nassr’s initial €30 million offer was deemed unacceptable due to a difference in valuations with Manchester City. Despite talks with Al-Nassr falling through, another Saudi Arabian club, Al Ittihad, have approached Ederson and he is reportedly keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League.
While negotiations between Al Ittihad and Manchester City are set to follow, City is expected to stick to their valuation of €50 million to €60 million for Ederson. The Brazilian goalkeeper has returned to City for pre-season training and is part of the squad for their upcoming matches in the United States. City has also secured the futures of their other goalkeepers, Stefan Ortega and Scott Carson, with contract extensions.
If a deal for Ederson is reached, Manchester City will likely look to the transfer market for a new back-up goalkeeper and promote Stefan Ortega to the number one role. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Ederson’s future, City are prepared to make necessary moves to ensure they have a solid goalkeeping situation moving forward.
