Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Newcastle United are interested in signing Nathan Ake this summer.

The 27-year-old Chelsea academy graduate joined Pep Guardiola’s side from Bournemouth for more than £40 million in 2020, but has struggled to maintain a regular starting spot.

He managed only ten starts this past season while making 14 appearances in the league overall. In all competitions, Ake featured in a total of 27 games, scoring thrice.

It’s believed that Ake will be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer if Pep Guardiola’s side were to receive a ‘reasonable’ offer for him.

According to talkSPORT, Nathan Ake is a target for Newcastle United for the upcoming transfer window, as Eddie Howe eyes a reunion with his former ward.

Newcastle did have an interest back in the Netherlands international back in January, but Guardiola refused to sell Ake midway through the season.

The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
