Kevin De Bruyne would have been delighted after Manchester City’s 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, De Bruyne would have been happy to have played for a majority of the contest without getting injured.
On top of that, the Manchester City virtuoso would have been over the moon to have assisted Bernardo Silva’s goal and scored one of his own against Nottingham Forest. As Jen Beattie heaped praise on De Bruyne and felt he was given a “deserved standing ovation”, he too would have been touched by how the home support reacted to his performance.
All in all, the Etihad Stadium was witness to the hosts playing beautiful football in a comfortable victory, which has not been the case in recent weeks .Pep Guardiola’s men have been missing De Bruyne’s genius in the middle of the park and his incredible display highlighted how important he remains to this City side.
