Manchester City could find themselves looking to sign a new midfielder in next month’s January transfer window. In September, Rodri suffered a season-ending knee injury in what was his first league start of the campaign during the first half of City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
This then led to Guardiola suggesting City could sign a midfielder in next month’s January transfer window as a replacement for the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner. Since then, City have been linked with various midfielders across Europe ahead of the upcoming winter transfer period.
In fact, a new name has emerged in what is seemingly a long list of potential midfield transfer targets for the Manchester club.
