Pep Guardiola is now in the ninth of what could be his 11 seasons in charge of Manchester City. Despite guiding City to multiple domestic and European trophies since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium back in 2016, the Catalan has seen his side lose their last five matches.
The latest of which being a disheartening 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in front of their home crowd. Prior to this match, Guardiola put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension to put the uncertainty around his future with the Blues to bed.
In fact, Guardiola said it took two hours to agree on the extension. Even though he’s gone through his worst-ever run as a manager in terms of consecutive defeats, Guardiola has now found himself being mentioned in the same breath as two of the more well-known former Premier League managers.
