Manchester City defeated Slovan Bratislava 4-0 in their second Champions League match of the season, with goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and James McAtee securing their first win of the campaign. The match was special for Bratislava captain Vladimir Weiss, who faced his former club for the first time since leaving Manchester City in 2012. Weiss, who expressed interest in potentially becoming a manager in the future, spoke to Pep Guardiola after the game and expressed his desire to visit Manchester.
Weiss, who joined City’s academy in 2006, had loan spells at clubs like Bolton Wanderers and Rangers before leaving permanently in 2012. Despite making only five senior appearances and scoring one goal during his time at City, Weiss still holds a deep admiration for Guardiola and the club. He praised Guardiola for changing football in a positive way and expressed his desire to return to Manchester for a visit in the future, showing his continued love for the club.
