Last season, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were Manchester City’s top attacking players, with Haaland scoring 27 goals and Foden registering 19 goals along with eight assists. Both players are expected to have stellar seasons in the upcoming 2024/2025 season, with Haaland aiming to score more than 30 goals and Foden looking to build on his best season at City. However, pundit Jill Scott made a bold claim that Oscar Bobb could be the Premier League Player of the Season, despite only starting two games last season.
Bobb, described as a “beautiful player” by Don Hutchison, could be a surprise package in the Premier League due to his relative unknown status among defenders. With increased playing time, Bobb’s natural talent and surprise factor could propel him to have a special season and potentially contend for the Player of the Season award, as predicted by Scott. Only time will tell if Bobb can live up to these expectations and make a significant impact in the league.
