Manchester City is facing a challenge as several key players have only recently returned to training, making it difficult to predict their lineup against Chelsea on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s team will start their 2024/2025 Premier League campaign by traveling to Stamford Bridge, where they will face their former assistant Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side. Guardiola and his players are prepared for the tough task of winning away from home to kickstart their season, following a successful debut season with a 2-1 win against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium.
Ederson Moraes is expected to continue in goal for City, while players like Ruben Dias, Mateo Kovacic, and Erling Haaland are likely to feature in the predicted lineup. With concerns over Jack Grealish’s fitness, Jeremy Doku could retain his place in the team, and new signing Oscar Bobb may also start after an impressive performance in the Community Shield. Guardiola may make only two changes from the previous game against Manchester United, as City aim to secure a victory over Chelsea to begin their league campaign on a positive note.
