Manchester City is reportedly targeting Crystal Palace player Eberechi Eze and the midfielder is said to be open to joining the Premier League champions. The Cityzens have approved an approach for Eze who is considered a top target for the team. Despite the initial £60m release clause in his contract, City are said to be interested in signing Eze before the transfer window closes.
Talks have taken place between Manchester City and Eze’s representatives, indicating serious interest from the club in the England international. Other teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham, are also reportedly interested in Eze, but City may have an advantage if the player is keen on a move to Manchester. The existence of a buyout clause could make negotiations easier, although Palace is known to be tough negotiators when it comes to transfer fees.
The potential move for Eze adds to Manchester City’s pursuit for midfield options, with Pedro Neto and Luis Diaz also reportedly under consideration before Chelsea and Liverpool respectively, opted for them. The interest from multiple clubs suggests competition for Eze’s signature, but Guardiola’s team seems to have an edge if talks progress further and the buyout clause facilitates the deal.
