Manchester City may be looking to revive their interest in bringing Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to the Etihad, with reports suggesting that Guimaraes is still keen on the move. Fans believe that Guimaraes would be a valuable addition to City’s midfield, with many feeling that he could be the missing piece that strengthens the team.
However, acquiring Guimaraes from Newcastle won’t come cheap, as the midfielder had a £100m release clause when City had the chance to sign him earlier in the summer. The Magpies are not looking to sell Guimaraes, meaning that the cost of any potential deal is likely to have increased, especially with other clubs cooling their interest.
While Guimaraes has stated that he never requested a transfer away from Newcastle and is committed to the club, the existence of a release clause in his contract suggests that he may be open to a move if the right opportunity arises. It remains to be seen whether City will be willing to pay the high price to secure Guimaraes and strengthen their squad.
