Julian Alvarez has officially left Manchester City to join Atletico Madrid in Spain after completing two successful seasons at the Etihad Stadium. Alvarez, who scored 36 goals and provided 18 assists during his time at City, secured an £81m move to Atletico earlier this week. Prior to the transfer, Atletico players such as Antoine Griezmann and Rodri de Paul regularly messaged Alvarez to encourage him to join the Spanish club.
Atletico’s excitement about Alvarez’s arrival is justified, given his impressive performance at City and his desire to seek a new challenge. With the support of his new teammates, including those who were persistent in their messages to him, Alvarez will look to continue his success and add to his individual trophy cabinet. Manchester City will be hoping for Alvarez’s success at Atletico and for him to bring home more silverware in the future.
