Fabrizio Romano revealed Manchester City’s plans to potentially replace Julian Alvarez with a new winger instead of a natural striker, despite signing Savinho in the summer. City already has exciting wide forwards like Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb, and Jack Grealish, all under 23 years old, suggesting a high upside in their game. Rumors of a shock deal to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool surfaced, but Romano denied any agreement, stating that City was not working on a deal to sign Diaz.
Even if Manchester City had signed Diaz, it would not have added much value to their roster, with several other left-wing players in the team. Diaz’s lack of consistent goal involvements and being in the prime of his career would not make him a priority target for City, explaining why they were not pursuing a deal for the Colombian winger. Despite the rumors, Romano’s sources confirmed that there was no agreement in place for City to sign Diaz in the summer transfer window.
