Manchester City have a history of signing young players from other English clubs, with recent examples including Jamal Baptiste, Finley Gorman, and Harrison Parker. This summer, City have also seen academy players like Callum Doyle, Mahamadou Susoho, and Micah Hamilton leave on loan or permanent deals. The latest addition to City’s young talent is Divin Mubama, a 19-year-old striker from West Ham. Fabrizio Romano reported that City have agreed to pay £1.2 million in compensation to sign Mubama, who has shown promise with impressive goal-scoring stats for West Ham’s youth teams.
Mubama has scored 58 goals and provided 7 assists in 91 appearances for West Ham’s U18 and U21 sides, as well as making 18 senior appearances with one goal and one assist. His potential as a future star is evident in his goal-scoring prowess, which has caught City’s attention. It remains to be seen if Mubama will have the opportunity to play for Pep Guardiola’s side in the future, but City’s investment in him suggests they see him as a player worth developing.
