Manchester City recently recruited 18-year-old Argentine wonderkid Claudio Echeverri, who has signed a contract with the club until 2028 for a deal worth £12.5 million. Echeverri will remain on loan at River Plate until the end of 2024, despite initial plans to loan him to sister club Girona in Spain. Due to a transfer ban between the two clubs until September 2025, the move had to be put on hold.
Echeverri recently revealed his arrival in Manchester on Instagram, showcasing the view from his new apartment in the city center. Despite tagging the location as ‘Paris, France,’ where he will be competing in the 2024 Olympic Games with Argentina, Echeverri made a brief visit to Manchester to finalize the details of his move to Manchester City before heading to Paris.
In addition to his upcoming participation in the Olympic Games, Echeverri was named in Argentina’s under-23 squad for the tournament. He will have the opportunity to play alongside Manchester City teammate Julian Alvarez, who will also be part of the squad heading to Paris. This marks an exciting development for Echeverri as he transitions to his new home at the Etihad Stadium and prepares for a promising future in football.
