Manchester City has been linked with Dani Olmo, but it has been revealed that they are not actually in the market for the player. The club is known for its strategic approach to recruitment, setting a price tag for players and not making rash decisions in the transfer market. This method has contributed to their success in recent years, alongside Pep Guardiola’s management and the quality of their squad. While Olmo is a talented player, City’s priority lies in signing a central midfielder to strengthen their squad.

Guardiola has reportedly considered signing Olmo since the start of the 2022/2023 season, but Manchester City is not pursuing the player in the summer transfer window. The club’s focus is on bolstering their midfield rather than adding Olmo to their roster. With players like Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic currently filling midfield roles, City lacks a right-winger and a midfielder with an eye for goal like Ilkay Gundogan. Improving in this area will be a bigger priority for the team moving forward.

The 26-year-old Olmo has a release clause of €60 million (£50.5 million), and he has been performing well for RB Leipzig and Spain. While he may not be joining Manchester City, Olmo’s potential as a world-class player is acknowledged. City’s approach to recruitment, combined with Guardiola’s coaching and the quality of their squad, sets them up for continued success in the future.
