Micah Richards has revealed why he felt “sad” watching Phil Foden for England in their 1-0 victory against Serbia. Jamie O’Hara slated Foden for his quiet display, stating that he is “ineffective” when he plays for the Three Lions.

Prior to the contest, Roy Keane claimed that the 24-year-old will deliver wherever he plays for England. Foden, who was a left-winger on paper was given the license to invert into central positions against Serbia.

However, Manchester City’s number 47 did not look at his brilliant best on Sunday night.The City midfielder, renowned for his eye for goal, creative spark and technical brilliance showcased none of these qualities.

Instead, the Stockport-born midfielder had a game to forget, much like another attacking player in Harry Kane for his country. After England beat Serbia, Micah Richards had his say on how Foden played on BBC Sport (16/06/2024, 10:20 pm)
