Manchester City’s interest in Lucas Paqueta is set to be revived this summer, after failing to secure a deal for him last year due to gambling allegations. Representatives of Paqueta are reportedly considering legal action against the FA, as they feel off-the-field issues may prevent him from joining City.

The Premier League champions had initially been in talks with West Ham over a deal for Paqueta, but withdrew once the FA investigation emerged. Despite signing Matheus Nunes instead, Manchester City may still pursue Paqueta if the investigation leads to no serious issues.

The FA has not confirmed if a verdict on the gambling allegations will be reached in time for a potential move this summer. If a deal for Paqueta falls through, Manchester City has alternative transfer options in mind, such as Bruno Guimaraes or Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Paqueta’s situation, City remains interested in bringing him to the Etihad Stadium.
