Ruben Dias is known as Manchester City’s most reliable defender, providing a solid and calming presence at the back. He was brought in to replace Vincent Kompany and has brought back composure and resilience to the team. At 26 years old, Dias hails from Amadora, Lisbon, Portugal, and stands at 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 76kg. He is not the tallest defender but makes up for it with athleticism and strength, making it difficult for opponents to get past him.
Dias started dating model Arabella Chi in 2023, but the relationship ended shortly after a romantic trip to Paris. He had previously dated Portuguese pop star April Ivy. As one of City’s highest earners, Dias earns £180,000 a week with an annual salary of £9.36 million until 2027. He has only played for one professional team before City, Benfica, where he rose through the ranks after joining at a young age.
Dias was signed by Manchester City for £62 million in 2020, a fee that rose to £65 million. He has had a successful career with City, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, and a Club World Cup. He has also received numerous individual honors, including being named to several Team of the Year and Player of the Season awards. While not the captain of City, Dias is part of the team’s leadership group.
