Pep Guardiola is cautioning his Man City players ahead of their remaining Premier League matches, describing them as “finals” that they must win in order to retain the title.
One of the upcoming fixtures is against Brighton and Hove Albion, with a win potentially putting pressure on current leaders Arsenal, who hold a four-point advantage over Manchester City.
While Arsenal have played two more matches, including a recent victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers and a 5-0 win over Chelsea, Guardiola remains focused on the task at hand. He stated, “Still we have six finals in the Premier League, and after we have one week to prepare for the final.”
Guardiola Admits Arsenal And Liverpool Gives Man City Chance To Win League Again
Man City have maintained a strong record in the league this season, with their last loss occurring in December. Recent slip-ups by rival teams like Arsenal and Liverpool have provided City with an opportunity to reclaim the title.
Liverpool’s recent defeats to Crystal Palace and Everton have put them potentially five points behind City if Guardiola’s team secures wins in their remaining matches.
Guardiola emphasized the importance of winning all remaining games, stating, “We have to win all our games to have a chance in our hands to retain the title. Nothing changes for the fact that what we should do before, and now. Nothing changed.”
