Sergei Palkin, CEO of Shakhtar Donetsk, revealed that several big clubs have contacted the Ukrainian team about signing Georgiy Sudakov, who is also a target for Manchester City. Palkin stated that Sudakov has a big chance to move to a top European club this summer, with many teams showing interest in the midfielder. City were first linked with Sudakov last year after scouts were impressed with his performance against England.
City may be in the market for a midfielder this summer, with Kalvin Phillips potentially leaving and uncertainties surrounding the futures of Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne. Both Silva and De Bruyne could be targeted by offers from Saudi Arabia, leaving City in need of reinforcements in midfield. Despite his young age and reported asking price of £60m, Sudakov has attracted interest from top clubs due to his potential and performances for Shakhtar.
The 21-year-old midfielder has scored 17 goals in 95 senior appearances for Shakhtar since his debut in 2020, showcasing his talent and potential. Brighton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all been linked with Sudakov, indicating strong competition for his signature this summer. With several big clubs showing interest in Sudakov, it remains to be seen where the talented midfielder will end up playing next season.
