Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios has not yet made a decision on whether he will leave the Bundesliga champions this summer. Despite having a successful season, Palacios is content to remain in Germany and is comfortable and happy there. He did, however, leave the door open to a potential transfer, suggesting that he is open to a move in the future.
Palacios, a holding midfielder, has excelled playing alongside Granit Xhaka in Bayer Leverkusen this season. Manchester City, along with Aston Villa and Newcastle, are interested in the 25-year-old. Reports indicate that Arsenal have also scouted Palacios in a match against RB Leipzig a few months ago, showing significant interest in the player.
With Rodri expressing concerns about playing too many games, City may look to sign Palacios to help lessen the workload on the Spaniard. Palacios has shown his ability to contribute in attack, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists in 30 appearances. With room in the squad expected due to the potential departure of Kalvin Phillips, Palacios could be a good fit for City’s midfield.
