Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is confident that Manchester City will not surrender their lead at the top of the Premier League table. Merson praised City’s consistent performances, pointing out their impressive unbeaten run and dominance in recent seasons. He believes that City will continue to play at a high level and is doubtful that any team will be able to catch up to them in the title race.
Following City’s 5-1 victory over Luton Town, they moved two points clear of Arsenal and Liverpool. Despite their loss to Aston Villa, Arsenal’s better goal difference keeps them in contention if City were to slip up in their remaining fixtures. However, Liverpool’s defeat to Crystal Palace has also left them on 71 points, making it a tight race at the top of the table with only a few games remaining.
In their remaining fixtures, City will face Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham. With a relatively favorable schedule, City appears well-positioned to maintain their lead and secure the Premier League title. Merson’s confidence in City’s ability to continue their winning ways suggests that it will be a tough challenge for Arsenal and Liverpool to overtake them in the final stretch of the season.
