Promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town are considering making a move for Manchester City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis this summer. Ipswich is currently leading the Championship table with 89 points, but faces tough competition from Leicester City and Leeds United. Southampton, in fourth place with 81 points, can still achieve automatic promotion but will likely finish in the playoff places.
Harwood-Bellis has been on loan at Southampton and has been a key player for the team, making 38 appearances. Southampton is interested in signing him permanently for £15 million if they secure promotion to the Premier League. However, if Southampton remains in the Championship, Ipswich Town is also interested in acquiring the talented young player. City is likely to cash in on Harwood-Bellis this summer, as he has expressed interest in moving on and City sees it as an opportunity to profit from their academy talent.
The Championship season is coming to a close, and it looks like either Ipswich Town or Southampton could be in the Premier League next season. Whichever team secures Harwood-Bellis will benefit from his talent, with former City captain Vincent Kompany praising his attitude and professionalism. Ipswich full-back Leif Davis also spoke highly of Harwood-Bellis’ performance during his loan spells, indicating that he is a top player with potential for success in the Premier League.
