Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne has emerged as the club’s highest earner, surpassing previous claims about Erling Haaland’s salary. De Bruyne, the Belgian international, has been a key player for Manchester City since his arrival in 2015 for a record fee of £55 million. With 370 appearances and 14 trophies under his belt, including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, he has proven to be a valuable asset to the team.
The 32-year-old’s contract with Manchester City is set to expire next summer, alongside manager Pep Guardiola’s deal. Despite interest from Saudi Arabia and lucrative offers being turned down, De Bruyne remains committed to the club. It has been reported that De Bruyne earns more than Haaland’s £375,000 per week base salary, debunking previous claims of Haaland earning £865,000 a week due to performance-related bonuses.
Haaland, who joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund, has been in fantastic form, scoring 52 goals in 53 appearances last season and 29 goals in 33 appearances this season. Rumors of a potential contract extension with Manchester City and interest from Real Madrid have been circulating.
In a recent statement before a Champions League match, Haaland addressed speculation about his future, expressing his happiness at Manchester City and leaving the door open for a move to Real Madrid in the future. While he acknowledges the uncertainty of the future, he emphasizes his current contentment at the club.
