Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, and Manuel Akanji ahead of the clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
The Sky Blues are set to resume their Premier League title bid this weekend with a crucial match against league leaders Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City will be facing three league fixtures in less than a week, with the Gunners and Aston Villa visiting on Sunday and Wednesday respectively, followed by a trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
A win on Sunday could see Manchester City leapfrog Arsenal in the Premier League table, as they currently trail the Gunners and Liverpool by just one point with 10 matches remaining in the campaign.
In addition to their league commitments, Guardiola’s side is also competing in the UEFA Champions League and Emirates FA Cup, with a potential meeting with Arsenal looming in the Champions League semi-finals. However, City are facing injury concerns with John Stones and Kyle Walker potentially unavailable for the upcoming match.
Guardiola provided updates on Ederson, De Bruyne, Akanji, and Grealish, indicating that Ederson is recovering well from a muscular injury, while De Bruyne and Akanji are both available for selection. Grealish could also be in contention to play this weekend.
De Bruyne had missed recent matches due to a groin injury, but Guardiola confirmed his availability for the upcoming fixture against Arsenal.
