Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega has decided to purchase a new house in Germany, sparking rumors of a potential summer departure from the Etihad Stadium.
The 31-year-old has been linked to a possible exit from Manchester City at the end of the current season. Ortega, who has stalled contract talks and turned down Bayern Munich last year, is in the running to start in Sunday’s Premier League game against Arsenal due to Ederson’s recent injury.
Ortega, who joined Manchester City on a free transfer from Arminia Bielefeld in July 2022, has made 11 appearances for the team this season. He could play a crucial role in the team’s pursuit of a treble, with Ederson sidelined due to injury.
City has important league games ahead of a Champions League clash with Real Madrid. Amid uncertainty about his future, reports suggest Ortega has purchased a house in Hamburg, hinting at a possible move back to the Bundesliga this summer.
Should Ortega leave, Manchester City could make a significant profit, as he arrived at the club on a free transfer less than two years ago.
