Former Brazil star Ronaldo Nazario has shared his prediction for the winner of the Premier League this season, backing Manchester City to retain their crown. The World Cup winner, who spent a year playing alongside City manager Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, simply replied “City” when asked which team he believes will finish top of the table.
Guardiola has previously expressed his admiration for Ronaldo, describing him as a phenomenal player and a wonderful person. The City boss was disappointed when the Brazilian left for Inter Milan just a season after arriving at Barcelona.
City currently sit one point behind league leaders Liverpool after a draw against the Reds, with Arsenal climbing to the top of the table on goal difference following a victory over Brentford. The upcoming fixtures for City include a crucial game against Liverpool at Anfield, an FA Cup quarter-final against Newcastle, and a clash with Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium after the international break.
Despite facing stiff competition from both Liverpool and Arsenal, City have a strong track record in the Premier League, having won five of the last six titles. Their experience in high-pressure situations and ability to deliver when it matters most make them favorites to come out on top this season. While the presence of two strong rivals adds a new dynamic to the title race, City’s consistency and determination could see them secure another league title.
