Reports suggest that some of Europe’s top clubs are preparing to battle it out for the signature of a promising attacking talent from Belgium in the upcoming summer transfer window. Among the interested parties is Manchester City, who are looking to revamp their squad under the management of Pep Guardiola.
While Manchester City is already eyeing reinforcements in both attacking and defensive midfield positions, they are also exploring opportunities to strengthen other areas of the squad. Despite signing Jeremy Doku from Stade Rennais last year, the club is now reportedly interested in Johan Bakayoko, a rising star from Belgium.
According to Sky Sports’ Patrick Berger, Bakayoko is a top target for Manchester City, as well as other European giants such as PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old forward is highly sought after, with a potential transfer fee of between €50 million and €60 million.
Despite being under contract with PSV Eindhoven until 2027 and lacking a release clause, Bakayoko has attracted significant interest in the market. Manchester City has already added a new attacking talent in City Football Group’s Savio, who was signed after impressing during a loan spell at Girona in La Liga.
Savio, who initially joined ESTAC Troyes in France before making his mark in Spain, will likely be evaluated during Manchester City’s pre-season tour in the USA. Guardiola and his coaching staff will decide whether to integrate Savio into the first-team squad for the upcoming season or send him out on another loan spell for further development.
