Reports indicate that officials at Manchester City are anticipating a significant increase in revenue from player sales in the upcoming summer transfer window.
During the 2023 summer transfer window, Manchester City made substantial investments in new arrivals, balancing their spending by selling high-profile players to various clubs in Europe.
One of the notable departures was Cole Palmer, who left the Etihad Stadium to join Chelsea for around £42 million. Riyad Mahrez also bid farewell to Manchester City, moving to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, along with Aymeric Laporte who joined Al-Nassr, both transfers amounting to over £50 million each.
According to recent reports, Manchester City is preparing for another significant amount to be generated through player sales in the upcoming transfer window, as speculated by ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X.
The club is expected to possibly receive around £200 million from outgoing player sales, with potential deals involving Joao Cancelo, Kalvin Phillips, Stefan Ortega, and Bernardo Silva.
There has been discussion around the possibility of a ‘shock sale’ in the summer, including rumors of interest in Kevin De Bruyne from Saudi Arabia. Manchester City is also looking to strengthen their squad with new additions across various positions.
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain is likely to focus on bolstering the midfield, especially if players like Bernardo Silva and Kalvin Phillips depart. Names like Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich have been linked with a potential move to Manchester City.
