Yan Couto, the talented Brazil international full-back on loan with Manchester City, has shared his personal “dream” of playing under head coach Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The 21-year-old has been having a successful season, earning his first senior cap with the Brazil national team last year due to his performances at Girona.
Manchester City has been patient with Couto’s development since signing him from Coritiba in 2020, despite facing competition from FC Barcelona.
As the next pre-season approaches, Manchester City will need to decide on Couto’s future and whether to include him in the first-team squad.
In an exclusive conversation with TNT Sports Brasil, translated by Sport Witness, Couto expressed his dream of working under Guardiola: “I don’t always have contact with Guardiola. But whenever I’m there, we talk, he’s a very nice person…I dream of playing with him because he’s an extraordinary coach.”
Current Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has faced scrutiny this season, leading to transfer uncertainty. Despite interest from Bayern Munich last summer, Walker remained at the club following high-profile exits.
