Arsenal and Manchester City have now discovered who their next opponents will be in the Champions League, potentially setting up a clash between the two in the semi-finals.
In the last two seasons, Manchester City has faced Real Madrid in the semi-finals, with the Premier League champions dominating the Spanish giants with a 4-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium last season on their way to their first Champions League title.
On the other hand, Arsenal has been drawn against Bayern Munich, a team with six European titles. Interestingly, Bayern’s star striker, Harry Kane, used to be a key player for Arsenal’s fierce rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners will be seeking redemption as they have suffered 5-1 defeats in each of their last three encounters with Bayern.
If both teams can navigate their quarter-final matches successfully, they will meet in the semi-finals. Other quarter-final matchups include Paris St Germain against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid against Borussia Dortmund.
The quarter-final first legs are scheduled for April 9 and 10, with the second legs to follow the next week. The semi-finals are set for April 30 and May 1, with the return legs on May 7 and 8. The final will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 1.
