Diogo Jota has expressed his admiration for Bernardo Silva, calling him one of the most technically gifted players he has ever played with. Silva, who plays for Manchester City, is recognized as one of the most skilled footballers in the world, possessing exceptional left foot control, dribbling ability, and precise first touch.
In December, Jack Grealish praised Silva as a “magician with the ball” at his feet, while Alexis Mac Allister also commended the Portuguese midfielder for being “so, so good on the ball”, regarding him as his toughest-ever opponent.
Now, Jota, who plays with Silva on the Portugal national team, ranks Silva as one of the most technically adept players he has ever played with, with Thiago Alcantara being the best in his opinion.
Jota mentioned his admiration for Silva during an interview with Sky Sports, revealing, “I could have said Bernardo Silva, now that I think in the national team”. Previously, Jota has also expressed a desire for Silva to join him at Liverpool.
Jota’s praise is well-deserved as Silva’s exceptional technical abilities make him an ideal fit for playing under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Guardiola tends to favor players who are elite technicians, such as Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Sergio Busquets, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Thiago Alcantara, and Xabi Alonso. Silva’s expertise in this area has undoubtedly contributed to his success at Manchester City.
With such high praise from his peers and a track record of success under one of the most respected coaches in the game, it is clear that Bernardo Silva is truly a remarkable talent whose skills are rightfully recognized and celebrated.
