Girona star Savio has agreed to a potential move to Manchester City if the Premier League champions show strong interest in the player. The 19-year-old wide forward is currently on loan at the La Liga high-flyers from City Football Group side Troyes. Savio’s move to European football was confirmed in 2022, with an agreement made between Atlético Mineiro and the City Football Group for a transfer fee of €6.5 million, with an additional €6 million in variables.
Instead of going directly to Manchester City, Savio was sent to France to further develop his game while the Etihad Stadium continues to monitor his progress in European football. In a recent interview with Globo Esporte, Savio openly admitted his desire to join Manchester City in the future, stating that it was his ultimate goal when he was signed by the City Group.
Despite his interest in a potential move to Manchester City, Savio denied any advancements on a deal when questioned about offers from the Etihad Stadium, stating that he is focused on Girona and wants to achieve his personal and team goals with the club. Manchester City is reportedly continuing to assess Savio’s talents and may look to acquire his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Savio has had a commendable season so far, contributing five goals and seven assists in 22 La Liga appearances and helping Girona compete for the league title. As of now, there have been no formal offers or contact from Manchester City, but the club is likely to be interested in securing Savio’s signature in the future. Regardless of the outcome, Savio remains focused on Girona and achieving success with the club.
