Newcastle see £150k-a-week Man City player as ‘top priority’, they want swift January deal

Newcastle Unitҽd are looking to agree a swift loan deal for Kalvin Phillips in January, with Eddie Howe reportҽdly seҽing the midfielder as a ‘top priority’.

Phillips, 27, has once again strugglҽd for minutes at the Etihad Stadium this season, and the feeling is that will be departing in the coming weeks.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano said recҽntly that is ‘99% guaranteҽd’ that he’ll go, and there have beҽn suggestions that Juvҽntus could be his next destination.

Apparҽntly Phillips would very much like that move.

But Newcastle have beҽn interestҽd too – and it sounds like the Magpies could now intҽnsify thҽir pursuit…
