Manchester City speedster Jeremy Doku has been tipped to develop into one of the world’s best footballers.
Doku is already turning heads at City following his big-money move in the summer. Few knew much about the 21-year-old when Etihad chiefs forked out £55million and, given the talent at Pep Guardiola’s disposal, many questioned where the winger would fit in.
But several explosive performances have silenced those doubts, with Doku also viewed as one for the future. An impressive showing against West Ham United last month convinced many that the wideman can become a Premier League entertainer for years to come.
Now, Paul van Himst has backed Jeremy Doku to become a bona fide superstar at Manchester City.
“I have known him since he was young, because he played with my grandson at the U16 or U18 level. He is terribly fast. What is good for him is that he is an individualist”, he said.
“But now that he left for Manchester City, he will learn to play in a team. Because at City, if he plays two games and doesn’t give the ball much, the others won’t give him the ball either. In a year’s time I think he will be one of the best players in the world. He has so many qualities.”
