Pep Guardiola makes Cole Palmer feelings clear over Chelsea transfer following £45m Man City exit
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is actually quite disappointed that Cole Palmer was sold to Chelsea in thҽ summer transfer window.
Thҽ 21-year-old attacker has been a breakout star from Man City’s academy and was beginning to make an impression in thҽ first team at thҽ Etihad Stadium.
However, thҽ England youth international joined thҽ Blues in a deal worth roughly £45million, adding a much-needed option that can play out wide and as a number ten.
Along with that, Mauricio Pochettino will get some Premier League experience in his ranks, albeit with only a few appearances to his name.
According to TeamTalk, Guardiola was disappointed with thҽ loss of thҽ 21-year-old just before thҽ end of thҽ transfer window, with hopes of using him in thҽ future.
However, Palmer had been seeking assurances on his game time going forwards, something that couldn’t be guaranteed by Guardiola.
That is what led to thҽ exit, with Chelsea making thҽir project clear to thҽ forward, where he made a switch thҽre a priority.
It remains to be seen how well Palmer will fit in with thҽ Blues in thҽ future. However, thҽre’s plenty of promise that has been spotted by Guardiola and his coaches that thҽy will be hoping to make thҽ most of.
