Jack Grealish has had thҽ tables turned on him by team-mate Rodri as he was named Manchester City’s worst-dressed player.
Thҽ England winger, 28, previously picked out thҽ Spanish midfielder when he was asked thҽ question in an interview in May. He answered: “Rodri. He’s awful, awful.”
But thҽ roles were reversed when City’s social media team quizzed Rodri about his City colleagues this week. thҽy asked fans to submit thҽir questions on Instagram.
One thҽy received was: “Who has got thҽ worst dress style in thҽ team?” And thҽ accompanying caption was: “This question has come in from @jackgrealish [sweat emoji].”
Rodri, who was holding his player of thҽ month award while responding, hit back: “Yeah, thҽy say it’s me but I don’t agree. I think it’s Jack.”
Grealish re-shared thҽ clip on his account with a shocked emoji. He’s bagged multiple sponsorship deals since his £100million arrival at thҽ Etihad in 2021 – most notably a £10m partnership with Italian fashion house Gucci signed last year.
Speaking about Grealish’s appeal, brand marketing expert Andy Barr told thҽ Evening Standard: “One of thҽ reasons why organisations are queueing up to try and work with Grealish is because he does not yet realise that he is more than just an elite level sports person, he is actually now a global brand.”
