‘Just get it done’, ‘£86m is a steal’ – Manchester City fans react as Journalist provides another update on Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are keen to do the Josko Gvardiol deal for less than RB Leipzig’s asking price of £86m.

City are looking to make the RB Leipzig centre-back their second signing of the summer, following the £25m arrival of Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

City believe that a deal is close, but that there are still details to be ironed out. As confirmed by Leipzig’s sporting director Max Eberl last month, Gvardiol and his representatives have made his intention to join City clear.

Given the clear stance of the player, all that is left to do before the Croatia international makes the move to the Etihad Stadium is for the two clubs to reach an agreement over a transfer fee – a task that is proving to be more difficult than some may have initially imagined.

However, there is a desire from both sides to come to a conclusion in the coming days and weeks, and a new report has detailed a fresh round of talks that have now been booked in between the Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.

That is according to the information of the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, who states that Manchester City have now scheduled a new round of talks to make ‘decisive steps’ on the Joško Gvardiol deal.

According to the information of The Athletic Football Correspondent David Ornstein, Manchester City are keen to do the Josko Gvardiol deal for less than RB Leipzig’s asking price of £86m.

The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.

@MCFC_SB: “Wasting so much time.”

@fifasquad14: “Just sign him.”

@mcfcerenfan125: “So we have 300 million, we walked away from Rice cuz it’s too much and bellingham didn’t want us. Now we don’t wanna pay leipzigs asking price. In hindsight, this much for him isn’t even bad if you look at some of the other transfer fees for certain players. Just get it done.”

@UKlionfan: “£86mil was always the asking and a fair price for a 21yr old, who is still understand contract for another 4yrs….He is also one of the best defenders in Europe and clearly better than Maguire who’s purchase price was 80mil….come on city…get it done!”

@City_Savage: “He’s worth 100 tbh £86m is a steal.”

@J_MoneyCity89: “Either get the deal done or just walk away”
