Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club has no interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.
The 31-year-old has spent the last six seasons with the French giants, recording 118 goals and 77 assists in 173 appearances across all competitions, and has also won 12 trophies including four Ligue 1 titles.
Neymar has enjoyed a productive spell in front of goal this campaign, scoring 18 goals and providing 17 assists in 29 matches, before sustaining a season-ending ankle injury in February.
Despite success in Ligue 1 for PSG and Neymar over the past six years, the club have been unable to achieve an elusive Champions League title – an inability which has sparked anger from supporters directed at the team’s star players.
The Brazil international is under contract at the Parc des Princes until June 2025 and recent report claims that he is planning to hang up his boots at the Parisian outfit.
Neymar has been linked with a move away from the French outfit this summer amid interest from a number of top European clubs including Premier League trio Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Man City, meanwhile, was reported to have joined the race for the Brazilian’s signature, with the Citizens believed to be in the market for a new attacker ahead of next season.
There were even claims that Guardiola called Neymar personally last month to discuss his current situation and the Brazilian’s state of mind considering.
Although Neymar is reported to be on City’s list of possible targets, Sam Lee of the Athletic claims that Manchester City will NOT sign Neymar.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
