Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have entered the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt center-back, Even Ndicka as a potential alternative to RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol this summer.
The 23-year-old French defender is likely to be one of the most sought-after defenders when the transfer window opens as the Frenchman is set to be a free agent in June (Transfermarkt).
Ndicka has been an important player for Eintracht Frankfurt, and the Bundesliga club will not want to lose him anytime soon. But they are powerless to stop him from leaving because of his contract situation.
Pep Guardiola’s men look set to sell Aymeric Laporte this summer after a frustrating season. Another left-footed centre back would be wanted if Laporte does leave, with Guardiola keen on that balance at the back.
According to 90min, City consider swooping for Ndicka this summer as they look to strengthen in defence.
It’s stated that City are looking at Ndicka as a potential alternative to £75million-rated RB Leipzig centre-back Josko Gvardiol, who is reportedly a top priority this summer for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Ndicka’s contract ends this summer, meaning he can move on for free – a far cry from the huge fee Gvardiol would cost.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
Smart move.
