Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is plotting a move for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
Lavia was sold to St Mary’s from the Etihad before the start of this current season for a reported fee of £14m, with the youngster looking to develop with regular gametime away from the Citizens.
The 19-year-old Belgian has featured 18 times in the Premier League for Southampton so far this campaign, contributing one goal and being a regular fixture in a side that are looking to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Lavia is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs, who could pounce to seal a deal if Southampton are relegated from the top flight this season.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City are keeping close tabs on the 19-year-old going into the summer window.
Man City are thought to have a £40m buy-back clause in his current contract, so Pep Guardiola could easily bring him back to the Etihad if he wanted to.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@ItsYanCity: “Wish this was true.”
@joey_banks: “A good plot. Bring him home.”
@J1rkaa161: “He is great talent and just 19yo.”
@City_champee: “Why did we sell him in the First place?”
@CT4YS0: “Awful business selling him in the first place.”
@HalalHaaland: “We shouldn’t have sold him 😭”
@city_enthusiast: “We shouldn’t have sold him in the first place. If we sell Phillips for at least 25m, we should be good to go”
@BelgiumFan2002: “Hé won’t come back if Philips is there, and Lavia needs minutes not be a benchwarmer.”
