Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have been contacted about a possible summer deal for Neymar.
The futures of Neymar is a topic of discussion right now at Paris Saint-Germain and as things stand his contract runs out in 2027.
There have been rumours over the last few months that PSG’s hierarchy want to let the Brazilian go and are willing to sell him in the summer, but that will be a tough task considering the 31-year-olds current wages in Paris.
According to Pete O’Rourke of footyinsider247, Manchester City have been contacted about a possible summer deal for Neymar, who is enjoying yet another great season for PSG in Ligue 1 at the moment.
As per the report, Sources have revealed a fee of £70M-£80M could be enough to bring the 31-year-old to the Premier League, however it is felt a deal is unlikely due to the financial package required.
Alongside City, the report claims that Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United have also been contacted about the possibility of signing Neymar.
However, it is believed the Premier League giants feel a deal is unlikely due to the financial package required to make it happen – as well as the considerable baggage the former Barcelona star would bring.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@kdbkdbkdbkdbkdb: “No thanks! We would like to keep Bernardo Silva instead..”
@LukeDarcy2023: “Neymar would be a great add, but as crazy as it sounds (due to age) I’d pick Messi to sign w/ City.”
@StormFalcon657: I’d rather bring Messi on a free transfer”
@irelarns: “Bring Messi instead.”
@Ogemdiii: “This city team is a brilliant one, I have no doubts about our quality whatsoever, but sometimes I feel we need someone to step up when we need some little magic, someone to do the extra ordinary, I think I’d love to see Neymar at City.”
@VonRavenheart: “I’d stay away from Neymar. Look for younger upcoming players instead. Our squad is getting older and needs refreshing..”
@mcfcbeermonster: “Don’t even care. what a signing he would be when he’s fit”
@Luke_MCFC: “Probably bollocks. But any city fan saying no to Neymar needs to face a firing squad. Would be the greatest player in our history the second he gets off the plane.”
@NartPacarizi: “Guardiola would be the best manager to him and would actually keep his head and mind at the real game. Also he would help Haaland a lot, I know KDB assists are amazing, but Neymar has some passes that KDB doesn’t”
@Ayrton08161553: “I’m not opposed to it, Neymar is very entertaining and I’d love to see him in the prem”
@TomsonPaul: “For the talent, yes, for the man and his antics, 100% no, he would destroy the dressing room, his mentality is putrid.”
