Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims West Ham United are ready to rekindle their interest in Kalvin Phillips.
The English international came through the ranks at Leeds United, cementing himself as a reliable player for both club and country. The Hammers were strongly linked with a big-money move to sign the 27-year-old England international from former club Leeds United last January, but they ultimately lost out to Man City over the summer.
Phillips, who penned a contract with Man City until 2028, has since been hampered with injuries during his first season at the Etihad Stadium and has featured for just 53 minutes across four substitute appearances in all competitions.
The Yorkshire-born midfielder made two substitute appearances for England at the 2022 World Cup and reported back to Man City “overweight” according to manager Pep Guardiola.
According to Football Insider, Premier League strugglers West Ham United are interested in securing the signature of Manchester City star Kalvin Phillips.
The report adds that Phillips, who is rated highly by Moyes, could be available for less than the fee paid by the Citizens last summer.
It will be interesting to see if City give up on their summer signing already, or if he could still earn his place in Pep Guardiola’s side in the second half of the season.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@UmCidadoQualqu6: If the price is right he can leave…
@Rm2becaptcha: we can do a swap deal
@AndreasKazakeo: Sell him and get Lavia back!
@Jacob4rmstrong: Tbh they can have him. We can bring Lavia back for the money we make.
@mcfcryan17: Sell and bring back Lavia
@mcfc_rachel: Honestly wouldn’t give a sh*t if he leaves. I’m all for giving players time but he is just always injured and never plays.
@macdannyrandy: Swap him with Declan Rice
@SkyBlueFTW22: Straight swap for Rice if he doesn’t perform in 2nd half of the season, same goes for Grealish, straight swap deal with Milan for Leao .
