Manchester City stepped up preparations for this week’s Carabao Cup fourth round clash with Liverpool in Tuesday’s latest training session at the CFA.
Pep Guardiola’s options to face have been boosted as three defensive options have returned to training following the World Cup.
Nathan Ake, Rodrigo and Manuel Akanji were all back in the thick of things at the CFA following their international duties at the Qatar showpiece as the domestic calendar takes centre stage once more.
The trio may not be rushed back to face Liverpool, although their returns do strengthen City’s options for when the Premier League resumes on December 28 at Leeds.
Ederson, Laporte, Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva, winner Julian Alvarez, and the England players Kyle Walker, John Stones, Kalvin Phillips, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish are Still to return.
Man City Fans are particularly excited as Photos Akanji, Rodri and Nathan Ake filtered out on the internet.

“Phillips should already be back and training, especially since he hasn’t started a game in months”

“Philips is not serious if he isn’t back already. Hasn’t played 90mins of football all season combined & it’s a chance to make your mark in the absence of other star players..”

“Would imagine he’ll start Rodri tomorrow if he’s anywhere near fit. A midfield of Gundogan, De Bruyne and Palmer feels too bold vs Liverpool.”
