Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club already have a ‘broad agreement’ in place with Pep Guardiola’s representatives over a new deal.

Guardiola, who has guided City to four Premier League titles, four League Cups and the FA Cup, will be out of contract in 2023 and his future at the club remains unresolved.

The Spaniard has always said that he will stay at the Etihad as long as his players continue to believe in his methods and fight for the City cause.

He recently hinted at his long-term future with Manchester City following their dramatic win over Fulham.

With the 51 year-olds contract due to expire at the end of the current season, his claims will give optimism to everyone associated with the club that he will extend his successful spell at the Etihad Stadium.

According to 90min, Manchester City are hopeful that Pep Guardiola will sign a new deal and there is already a ‘broad agreement’ in place with his representatives over a new deal – which would tie him down to the club until 2025.

The report states that City, who remain calm about the situation, would ideally like Guardiola to put pen to paper before the end of the calendar year.

90min went further to add that City Group have made it clear to Guardiola that he’d have a place at New York City FC should he want it, and that a succession plan has been floated by the club’s hierarchy if he decides to leave at the end of his current contract.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
