‘OMG’, ‘He’ll be good’ – Man City fans react as club join hunt for right-back called ‘one of the most exciting’ in his position

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have joined the hunt for in-demand Lyon sensation Malo Gusto.

The 19-year-old, who has been called ‘one of the most exciting‘ right-backs in football, established himself in the Lyon first-team last season, chipping in with five assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

He has continued to remain a central figure in the Lyon set-up this term after starting all nine Ligue 1 games, and his performances are catching the attention of several clubs across Europe.

According to 90min, Pep Guardiola’s side have joined the flurry of interested clubs keeping close tabs on the 19-year-old right-back.

Etihad officials, alongside other top teams from England, have sent officials to run the rule over Gusto in recent weeks with the teenager emerging as one of Europe’s most in-demand talents.

As well as City, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are eyeing the flying full-back from abroad with Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham also in the hunt.

Should Manchester City make the move?

Gusto is certainly a fine talent and could potentially be a perfect candidate to take over from Kyle Walker once the England international needs more rotation.

Joao Cancelo and Sergio Gomez operating on the left with Walker and Gusto on the right wouldn’t exactly leave Guardiola short of full-back options.

The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
